one month later…

Well, actually, it’s more like 6 weeks, but who’s counting?

It’s been a rollercoaster of a ride over the last few weeks. Transitioning from working at Message Wales to being full time in east Cardiff. During this time, we’ve managed to successfully launch a Faith Space lunch time club in St Illtyd’s, the local Catholic High School, deliver 2 weeks of assemblies to every child in Eastern High, launch Kintsugi Hope wellbeing groups both in Rumney Chapel and in Eastern High for students and parents. There’s also the weekly rhythm of Sunday Services, Kidz Klub, Youth Club, Crossroads Food Bank and The Living Room, the warm space at Rumney Chapel.

As a direct result of our new Faith Space group in St Illtyd’s we had an additional 14 young people in Friday Night Youth last week, which brought our weekly attendance up to 49. It’s safe to say that Friday nights are not quiet, but they are an amazing place where community is built and we’re able to share the truth of the gospel with every young person that attends.

Recently one of our young people who made a commitment to follow Jesus just a few months ago, was attending Advance Youth, an evangelism training course run by Message Wales. During the afternoon the young people went out on to the streets of the local area to share their faith and offer to pray with people. This young person was brave enough to approach a lady and offer to pray with her and share how God loves her. It was an amazing experience for her, and really encouraging for us to see her step out in faith. She’s now super excited to do more and to tell others about Jesus. What an encouragement!!

I’m spending the next few weeks planning for Christmas outreach. It really is my favourite time of the year, not just because I love Christmas and I’m a big kid at heart, but because so many people are open to attending church services and hearing the story of the first Christmas. As usual we’ve got the Santa Sleigh Runs planned, where we hand out over 12,000 candy canes along with over 12,000 messages of hope and invitations to local church services. We regularly see people come along to church services wherever we take the sleigh, simply because someone invited them to church.

On a more personal note, I want to say thank you to everyone who has supported us with this exciting step of faith and this new adventure that God has called us to. Without your prayers and your support we simply wouldn’t be able to do what we do. Please keep praying!

If you’re reading this and would like to support us practically that would be such a blessing to us. You can do this through Stewardship using this link.  https://account.stewardship.org.uk/gift/start/CF3outreach?donationType=OneOff (All of our support is being raised through Rumney Chapel.)

Thank you again for standing with us.
